Sarathi Upload Failure Diagnostics: Solving the 10 KB to 20 KB Error

The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) operates an aggressive server-side byte checker on Sarathi. Unlike other portals that permit any file under 50 KB, Sarathi rejects any file smaller than 10,240 bytes OR larger than 20,480 bytes:

Error: “File size is less than 10 KB”

Aggressive compressors often shrink simple signature crops down to 6 KB or 8 KB. When uploaded, Sarathi immediately blocks the file. Our dedicated tool dynamically calculates compression parameters to target a guaranteed safe median between 14 KB and 18 KB.

Error: “File size exceeds 20 KB”

If your file is even 20.2 KB (20,684 bytes), Sarathi’s upload gateway will fail with an unhelpful error code. Avoid saving files repeatedly in mobile editors, which re-inject redundant metadata. Use our single-pass client optimizer.
